That’s how it all started……Golf!!

Butch loves to play. We finally were empty nesters and going on on golf trips for him. I was stuck in the motel, the dogs were boarded, and Butch was having a ball....hhhhhmmmmmm, I said, "There's something wrong with this picture."

So I changed it! He liked to play competitively, but not out of town, so I decided I could start showing dogs, and he could play golf while I was at the show. Dogs would be happy, I would be happy, and Butch would be happy.

I also knew one must retire INTO something, not FROM something for retirement to be successful. Learned that in my Master’s program since I had an emphasis on aging. So as we looked toward the future and retirement, the idea of dog breeding/showing and golfing sounded like a great combination.

And that’s how it all started.

The picture, by the way, is us at the 12 th hole of the Master’s, The AMEN corner this year (2011). We were fortunate enough to go, and it was a BLAST. We will go again if we are lucky enough to be selected by the Masters’ committee for tickets. We now are fortunate enough to have a vet tech who comes in and dog sits, so the dogs are happy too.

Finch loves the beach. He had a great time at a Mardi Gras parade and got lots of beads, treats and moon pies. He loves all the outdoor dining around here. He is wild on the beach, his favorite place. He jumped in the gulf the other day to swim after birds, so he is not off the leash anymore. He had a good time shopping in Home Goods. He is quite the cavalier.

I do have a whistle that I use with steak as the reward. When he hears the whistle, he come flying. That’s how I got him out of the gulf. Oh, and Fairhope is another fave place of his.

He is the most affectionate and cute and cunning little guy. We are in love.

Hi Sharon,

I know it’s been a little while since we’ve talked, but I just wanted to let you know our sweet Beau that we got from you way back in 2012 passed away today. I guess I just wanted to thank you one last time for bringing him into this world and trusting us to care for him. He truly was one of the greatest blessings I have ever been given and we already miss him terribly.  I’ve attached a photo of him for you.

Thank you again,

Jaimie

"When they got their teeth cleaned this year(2023) at age 11, the vets said ."no heart disease"
So glad to hear their Mom, Misty, is still alive at age 13 with only a stage 3 murmur."

From  Sharon: This is such a sweet message Glitter's new owners wrote about her. They renamed her Christy, and she is beloved to them. It is wonderful to know they love here that much.

Today is Christy’s 5th birthday! She has all her favorite foods and Jim wrote a birthday note to her!

Love to Christy, Margaret.

“Dear Christy,

Happy birthday, you adorable ball of fur! Today is a special day because it marks another year of joy, love, and endless tail-wagging moments with you. It's hard to believe you're already 5 old – time flies when you're having fun!

From the moment you entered our lives, you brought boundless happiness and unconditional love. Your wagging tail and excited barks can brighten even the gloomiest of days. You have the uncanny ability to understand our emotions and offer comfort without uttering a single word.

You've made us laugh countless times with your playful antics and silly expressions. Whether it's chasing your tail, running after a toy, or simply snuggling up on the couch, you never fail to bring a smile to our faces. Your zest for life is infectious, and we're grateful for every moment we get to spend with you.

Christy, you are more than just a pet – you're a cherished family member. You've taught us the true meaning of loyalty, companionship, and unwavering love. Your presence has filled our home with warmth and laughter, turning it into a haven of happiness.

On this special day, we want to shower you with love, treats, and belly rubs galore. May your day be filled with endless tail wags, delicious treats, and plenty of adventures. Here's to another year of wagging tails, sniffing and exploring, constant snoring, and making unforgettable memories together.

Happy birthday, dear Christy! We love you to the moon and back, and we're grateful every day for the joy you bring into our lives.

With all our love,

Margaret and Jim “
